This article will cover one of the unique methods of getting traffic to a blog that doesn't work for regular sites. Remember that every blog is a web-site, but not every web-site is a blog. My top methods of getting traffic to a web-site are still my top methods of getting traffic to a blog. Those include: article marketing, link building and content creation/ranking factors.

But blogs are a special breed of web-site. There are additional methods of getting new visitors to your blog that are very effective. The first one I played with was linking to others. For your blog marketing efforts to work, you must understand that bloggers are part of a community. Those of us old-timers on the 'net remember when the entire 'net was a small, close-knit community… when it was OK to send an email telling others in your topic area that you just set up a site and would like a link on their site.

That isn't what I'm suggesting with the blog community. The days of sending even a personal email to someone you haven't met are nearly over. The spam problem has made that more and more difficult. However, it is still OK and still rather expected that you introduce yourself when you come into a community. It is also a good idea to let your new community know that you are a friendly guy and are willing to help out in the community.

This post will tell about one way to do that when you enter the blogosphere. First, you should find your neighbors. The Alexa toolbar is going to help you find out who the leaders are in your new community. Start by searching for "______ blog" on Google, Yahoo or your favorite search engine. Fill in the blank with the topic of your blog. Take a look at the blogs you see.

Do you like them? Good; these are leaders in your new community. Link to them in your blog roll. Read them daily to find out what is going on in your community. Do you not like them? No problem. Don't link to them then. Don't read them. Don't introduce your visitors to them. It isn't required that you like everyone in your new community, but you do want to be a part of the community you now live in…

Now as you read those blogs daily, notice their blog rolls (links they have to other blogs in your community). Go visit them. This is where the Alexa toolbar comes in. You will find some new leaders (those with blogs showing less than 100,000 on your Alexa toolbar). Check out their blog and if you like it… add it to your own blog roll.

I recently moved to a town of about 300 way up in the top of the Utah mountains.  It was a new community. I had never lived in a rural area before, so it was critical for me to go through this exact same exercise as I became a part of my new community up here in the mountains. Sure; it didn't involve Alexa or linking to others… but the concept is the same. When you enter a community and want to be a part of that community, get out there and get to know people. This is one way to do that in the blogging community.

I now have a hundred or so links from those in the blogging community after just a couple of months. From those links, I have over 600 daily visits and over 100 loyal readers who come to read my blog almost every day.

Did I ask for any of those links? Nope. Just like they didn't ask me for the links I gave them. Do I have 100 outbound links? Nope. A lot of those links came in without me linking to them. As I get the chance, I go and check out their blog and if I like it… I give them a link. If I don't like that blog for whatever reason; I don't include it in my blog roll. It's not always a tit for tat link exchange.

Some of you may be confused at this point about how my outbound links became inbound links without any other action. You may be confused about why I called this article "Getting Blog Visitors" when I have only talked about how to send my visitors to others by linking to them. OK; let me go into why this uniquely works very well on blogs, but not on other web-sites.

First, of all… I use Wordpress. It is the fastest growing blogging software out there. I'm not sure of the features of other blogging software, but I know the follow applies to Wordpress. When I log in to my control panel to write a blog post, I am given a page that shows a number of blog stats. One of the most prominent parts of those stats is the number of inbound links… AND a list of those who recently linked to me.

When you see that a blog called "Mattress Cleaners" just linked to you… can you ignore that? I can't. I'm immediately distracted… and what do I do? I click on it. I go and check out that Mattress Cleaner blog. They just got another reader (at least for that day). If they were a quality blog that was actually relevant to the blog community of my own blog (and they aren't)… they would get a link in my blog roll so that I could check them out periodically.

The same thing is possible with non-blog web-sites. When you link to a site and send them traffic, that shows up in their referrer logs. However, a lot of webmasters don't look at their logs or stats. Those who do may use stat software that doesn't even show referrers. They may only focus on traffic and not where it comes from.

However, most bloggers DO see when someone links to them. It is right in their face when they login to make a new post. All you need to do to let someone know that you have moved into their blog community is to link to them. BTW, it not only introduces you… it lets them know that you are friendly and you like their part of the blog community you just entered. Don't be surprised when they link back or even write a post about your blog.

It's that simple.

Private Label Articles - Get More Useful Content At Low Cost and Effort

Private label rights (PLR) are one of the hottest things in Internet marketing today. Everybody wants to know what they are and, more importantly, what benefits they can get out of them.

In essence, PLR is a kind of license you acquire for material, which allows you to change and edit existing material and call it your own. Without having to do a lot of work, you could be credited as the author of the material and not have to worry about any violations in copyright.

Not a lot of people know about the PLR articles, much less why they should pay attention to them. Give yourself the edge and find out why you should know all you can about PLR and how you can profit from them in the most efficient and effective way possible.

1. Saves time and effort.
You probably already know how much work and time it will take to write an article. On average, a single 700-word article will take about two hours to compose from scratch. If your intention is to create a website with over 50 pages, then you can see how daunting and time-consuming the task of simply writing content will be. PLR articles will save you this time and effort.

2. All credit goes to you.
You are under no obligation to credit the original author for PLR articles. As such, when you publish them on your website, no outbound links and advertisements will be there to distract your visitor / customer. All links will be focused on your brand and your affiliates.

3. Saves you money.
This point requires a different point from saving time and effort simply because of economics. Hiring writers to create content for your website averages about $15 per article. If your site were to hold even just 20 articles that you need to update regularly (say every two weeks), you'd see how the bill could add up.

But if you were to acquire PLR for a set of articles, you could save money because of the economics of scale. Articles are bought at bulk and as such it is possible to get your hands on 200 articles for only less than $30.

4. Editorial freedom.
You don't like how the article is written or the information it is presenting? PLR allows you to change the material right away without needing to ask permission from the writer.
This is also especially useful for optimizing your website for search engines since you can enrich the content with keyword phrases to improve your rankings in SERPs.

5. Create a brand for yourself.
Today, it's all about distinguishing yourself from the rest. PLR articles allow you to provide content that is both relevant and updated. By doing so you build a reputation with your target audience as an expert. And since people would much rather go with someone they trust, your chances of return visitors increases significantly.

6. Get professional results.
Many of the writers who offer articles with PLR are professionals and have access to the latest information regarding your field of interest. By acquiring the rights from them, you avail yourself of their professional results without having to retain their services regularly.

With one set of PLR articles and some creativity on your part, you can extend the life of the articles to the point where the content has more than paid for itself. So when sourcing out a supplier for PLR articles, ask for sample works to demonstrate the quality of articles you would be purchasing.

Now that you know why you should seriously consider getting PLR articles, here are some ways to get you started on profiting from them.

1. Compile a list or report.
You can consolidate a series of articles of a similar theme and package them as a report or listing of information. While you may think that anyone can do this, you'd be surprised how little of this is done.

Many people don't have the time to read or the willingness to read several articles at different times. Providing them a simplified version of the information they want will be a welcome offer for your visitors. You can either give away the report for free, sell it as your own product or use it as content on your website.

2. Use PLR content to create a series of small articles
This is especially useful when producing material for an email campaign. A series is by far, one of the more effective ways to create a following with your audience.

Give enough to allow them a feel for what you're offering and hint at giving more of the same if they will subscribe to your mailing list. In turn, your emails promote your website by inviting them to visit you on a more regular basis.

3. Produce ebooks.
It is very possible for you to take a set of PLR articles and come up with an ebook, for which you can credit yourself as the author.

Since you have created an entirely new product you could repackage this and sell this with your own resale rights. Just like you, there are people who are looking for material they can use for their own promotion needs so cater to this market as they are increasingly growing in number.

As you can see, using PLR articles are not only effective in providing truly useful content. They are also cost and labor-efficient, which means you can focus more of your time to more important matters, whether they are for business or otherwise.

Eight Steps To Guarantee A Successful Video Or Web Conference

A successful video or web conference can really give a boost to your organization. Online conferencing is now connecting people in a way that was not possible in the pre-Internet era. However, as powerful a tool as online conferencing is, it works best when you prepare your conferences properly. Here are some steps that you can take to help guarantee that your next video or web conference is a great success.

1. Make sure each of your attendees has enough bandwidth at his or her location.

There is nothing more frustrating than trying to watch a video online when you just don't have enough bandwidth to get it all. If your participant doesn't have enough bandwidth there will be latency delays and he or she will not be able to enjoy the experience or participate properly. The amount of bandwidth that is required varies from system to system and also according to what features you will be using during the conference. Features such as video, audio, screen and application sharing have different requirements. Check with your vendor or provider to find out what the minimum bandwidth requirements are, and then make sure each of your locations does indeed have enough bandwidth.

2. Test your web cameras to see that they are working properly.

If video will be involved at any of the locations, make sure that the location has tested their camera to ensure that everything is working satisfactorily. Ideally, all cameras should be tested from within the video or web conferencing system that you will be using. A camera that is working fine in one application may work differently within another system. Check it in advance so that you will not have any surprises on the day of your conference.

3. Check your sound equipment in advance.

If VoIP (audio) is going to be used from within the meeting itself, make sure that all attendees have the right tools needed, whether these tools are microphones, headsets and speakers.

4. Supply your participants with proper access information in advance of the conference.

If audio will be conducted via an audio conference call, make sure all attendees have the access number to dial into and the PIN (Personal Identification Number) they will need to access the call.

5. Conduct a "trial-run" of your presentation prior to the conference date.

The presenters or leaders of the conference should practice in advance. If a presentation will be involved, make sure that whoever will be presenting any material has tested this part of the video or web conferencing system. The presentation that is to be used should be demonstrated to another party BEFORE the date of the actual meeting.

6. Supply web access information to your participants well in advance of the meeting.

Make sure that all of your participants know how to access the video and web "conference room". Send an e-mail "link" to each participant well in advance of the meeting so that they will be able to easily access the meeting when the appropriate day and time has arrived.

7. Get as much training as you can in the video or web conference system that you will be using.

The host should be very familiar and comfortable with the video or web conferencing system they are going to use. If training is offered by your vendor or provider, then take advantage of this in order to become more familiar with the system. Familiarity with the system will help you to host a flawless meeting or conference.

8. Conduct a test meeting prior to the big event.

Most importantly! Conduct a test meeting or two before the day of the "big" meeting. Tests will help you eliminate as many surprises as possible before you gather all of your attendees. A meeting free of technical glitches will go far to help you achieve the goals of your conference.

The key to a successful online conference, whether it be a web conference, a video conference or a combination of the two, is preparation, preparation and preparation. The more you prepare and the more you practice, the better your online meetings will be.

With the growing popularity of the Internet more and more people are communicating via email. The many uses of email are what make it so appealing and so versatile. Whether you are sending a greeting to a grandparent or sending files to a coworker, you can easily utilize email to do so.

Email has come quite a long way since its introduction, yet it is still used for many of the same reasons. Basic electronic communication has essentially evolved into a more resourceful tool as one has the ability to do much more now then they once could. Along with the usual sending of files and text messages through email, one can send greeting cards, manage their emails by assigning them to folders or classifying them as junk and even organize and manage their daily tasks on some email servers.

This wonderful tool is not without its downside however. Some people choose to send worms and viruses via email and in the process infect and damage quite a lot of computers. A virus email can often be very difficult to detect, especially to someone with very little knowledge of computer viruses and how they work. If you notice that you have an anonymous email or an email with a name foreign to you then you may not want to open this email as may likely be a viruses and the mere act of opening the email makes your computer susceptible to infection.

Along with the abovementioned problems privacy has also become an issue with email activity. Virtually every email that you send has to go through a number of computers before it reaches the inbox of the intended receiver and along the way there exists a distinct possibility that an individual could hack into your email and read it. Thus it is imperative that you have a bullet proof password.

Securing a work at home job can take a lot of time, patience, and persistence. Unfortunately, by the time most people begin searching for a job to do at home, they are already in a severe financial bind and need to begin earning right away. That's just not realistic with most work at home jobs and businesses. However, it is very possible to begin earning some income almost immediately by using your existing skills and abilities.

The first step is to figure out exactly what your skills are. Don't say you don't have any. Everyone has things they are good at. ;-) Whether your skills have been learned in a job or everyday life doesn't matter. What type of work have you done in the past? Are you good with accounting, clerical work, filing, typing? Look at your hobbies and interests also. Can you design web pages, take great photographs, sew, knit? Do you love children or animals? Are you a great organizer or cleaner? Do you love to shop? Write down all of your skills, abilities, and interests.

Once you know what you can do, figure out a way to use those skills to earn some money. Get creative! Think in terms of products or services. What products or services can you provide that others will find value in? Big hint: people are always looking for ways to save time, save money, or improve their quality of life. Can you help them do that?

Here are some examples of ways you could use your skills: shopping, cleaning, organizing, party planning, childcare, pet-sitting/dog-walking, taking pets to veterinary appointments, errand service for Moms or elderly, assisting small businesses in your area with clerical work, painting (both interior and exterior), junk removal, yardwork, taking photographs at special events or tourist attractions, making and selling craft items at fairs or flea markets, designing websites for small local businesses, catering or cooking.

That's just the tip of the iceburg, but you get the idea. Once you have some ideas for possible businesses you could do, find out what legal requirements you'd have for starting a business like that in your home. Call your Town Clerk's office and your state's Dept. of Revenue to find out what paperwork or licenses you'd need to get started.

Then research the going rates for the work you're considering. If you're really not sure how much to charge, consider how much you'd like to earn per hour, and ask yourself whether most people would be willing to pay that or not. You don't want to under-charge and make it not worth your while, but you also don't want to charge ridiculous rates that people wouldn't pay. Your rate per hour will vary depending on the type of work you're doing, but in a general sense, try to keep your rates reasonable while still paying yourself what you're worth.

Then you can start marketing. Marketing does not have to be expensive. Make up some flyers yourself or have a print shop do it, and begin posting them on public bulletin boards. You can also pay for an inexpensive classified ad in your local newspaper. You might need to invest a little money to get started, but there is no need to spend hundreds of dollars. Start small. Once you begin building a client base you can always pay for more advertising. You can also have some business cards made up (or make your own) to pass out to potential clients. Don't be afraid to approach your target market directly, either! If you want to provide a service to small local businesses, go in and introduce yourself. Tell them who you are and what you do. Leave a flyer with them. Don't sit home waiting for the phone to ring, get out there and make it happen.

Guess what? You're in business! Even if this isn't what you want to continue doing forever, that's okay. You can still continue searching for jobs or researching home businesses that will more closely match what your career vision is. In the meantime, at least you will be earning some money to reduce the financial pressure in your household.

Achieving Success in New Jobs

Achieving Success in New Jobs

Word Count:
431

Summary:
It's very crucial for us to get settled down with a new job. Read on to learn how you can take the challenges at the new job and work for an all-round satisfaction.

Keywords:
job, job search, job listings, job openings, job opportunities, part time job, job fair, job bank, online job, new job, resume writing, career, career search

Article Body:
It is very crucial to understand the importance of getting the right foot on the new job right from day one.  It is true that the first impressions last for a longer period.  Performance of the candidate in his new job makes a greater impact on both the employer and the employee.

The fundamental guidelines for achieving success in the new job:

Hard work pays greater dividends.  There is no substitute or short cut for achieving success in new jobs.  The one and only requisite is to slog your way up in the ladder of success.  Never stick to the 9 – 5 time slot of work.

Being punctual will give an impression of a good discipline.  It is always good to arrive a little early to the work place, as this will help settle down before starting the day's work.  This also shows the interest of the employee.

It is also good to show interest in the job. If not understood properly you can ask for information or guidance from the collegues or from the boss himself for succeeding in the new job.

Keeping the work place clean will show how organized you are.  This can be done by staying a little while after work hours.  You can list down the actions to be carried next day, without the fear of forgetting things.

Success in the new job is not achieved just in a day or months, but it will start working towards success from the day one.

A successful person in his job does not indulge himself in the politics of the office, or gossip.  Observation and listening to others are very important in learning the job properly and effectively.  These skills are seen in successful people in their jobs.

It is always good to respect the hierarchy or chain of command; everyone has to report to some one other than him.  Rebels do not survive in the longer run.  The organization's mission, objectives and goals need to be known to the employee to work on the lines of the objectives of the company.

Adaptation to the new job is very important. Otherwise you will be the odd man out there.  The dress code should be followed according to the rules and regulations of the company.  Also it is good to find out how the business is done, if it is the formal way or the informal and way to follow accordingly.

With a little bit of common sense and the urge to succeed, by following the above guidelines one can easily achieve success in the new job.

How do they do it?

Well, there are lots of structure to attain money online. And they don't refer spamming or whatever shadowy techniques.

One artefact is to attain period promoting another people's products or services for a authorisation or fee. This is titled affiliate marketing.

One of the large affiliate marketing programs online is separate by eBay. eBay pays grouping a proportionality of their earnings for every traveller you beam to eBay who buys something. They also clear discover at small $25 for every newborn individual you intend to tie eBay.

Many grouping attain beatific money environment up websites that exist every of eBay products. When a traveller clicks a creation on the site, they are directed to eBay. If they acquire something, the someone of the place gets a commission.

There are whatever structure to ordered up an eBay place flooded of whatever products you poverty to sell. If you undergo how to program, you crapper ingest eBay's API or RSS take to exhibit products on your site. But I favour using and out-of-the-box code same phpBay Pro (which allows you to easily attain an eBay place using wordpress blogging software), or BANS (stands for "Build A Niche Store"). Both are relatively affordable and such easier to ingest than the eBay API. I favour phpBay Pro because it crapper easily combine with wordpress to enthusiastic enthusiastic sites.

If you are old with wordpress, you should be healthy to intend your prototypal eBay place up in a hebdomad using phpBay Pro. If you don't undergo wordpress and do not poverty to wager it, you crapper essay BANS, but ready in nous you requirement to undergo whatever base HTML using BANS.

How such does it outlay to intend started? The eBay API is free. phpBay Pro for wordpress costs most $49. BANS costs most $97.

How such crapper you make? I currently hit threesome sites prefabricated with phpBay Pro and I attain most $500-$600 a period amount from every of them. And every period they acquire a lowercase taste more.

Now that you hit the aggregation on how to move making whatever money online using eBay, provide it a effort and wager if you crapper move earning whatever player cash!

Big Mistake #1.

When I had some free time I went back and made a thank you page that simply stated, "Thank you for subscribing. Your first issue will arrive shortly." and listed the archives.

Big Mistake #2

What I failed to realize when I set up those two pages is that I had my visitor's attention. They were already interested in what I had to say because I convinced them to sign up for my newsletter or eCourse and I let them get away. I missed an opportunity. I missed potential profits.

When I redesigned my thank you page I included the standard "thank you" and "make sure you look for your confirmation email". I also instructed them to make sure they added me to their safe senders list to ensure they receive my emails. But this time I included "You may also be interested in these additional free offers:" and listed a free eBook, the opportunity to sign up for a free eCourse, and information about my favorite business author – all using my affiliate links.

Guess what happened? When I checked my affiliate stats, my click through rate increased 100% in just two days. Every person who subscribed to my newsletter also subscribed to the free eCourse I offered. My affiliate sales for the three products I promoted have doubled.

I've been publishing my newsletter for five months and it makes me sick to think about how much money I've lost because I didn't take the time to talk to my visitors.

Do you know what's mind blowing? Not only did it take me 30 minutes to set up the new thank you page, it didn't cost me a dime. I already had all the information tucked away in my personal affiliate tool kit and was just too lazy to pull it out and put it to use.

Don't make the same mistakes. Take a look at the page you're redirecting your new subscribers to. Are you offering targeted product recommendations? Are you keeping them with you or just letting them close that window to possibly never return? Take thirty minutes of your time and the resources you already have available to you and update your redirect page.

Your bank account will thank you.

I too have dabbled in eBay alternatives. The overwhelming problem for the vast majority of these sites is that the traffic to these sites is simply too low or nonexistent to bring in good prices.

According to , eBay is the world's 12th most popular site. That means there are millions of people a day who go to eBay to shop.  So just going to a site where the fees are lower doesn't necessarily make sense if they're attracting less traffic since the prices you'll get tend to be lower as well.

That's not to say there aren't any viable options to eBay. The key to doing well with eBay alternatives is to find a niche auction site.

You want to find a site that specializes in the items you're selling. For example, in the past I've sold coins on specialty auction sites and got better prices than I would have on eBay. However, the fee was actually higher than it would have been had I used eBay.

There are also sites that specialize in selling jewelry, electronics, art, and even links to websites. These sites may not have near the traffic levels that eBay has, but are able to be successful because they attract a very targeted audience.

So should you use eBay or should you go with the niche sites? It depends. Yes, the fees on eBay may be higher than some of those other auctions sites. However, the fees the eBay charges may be lower than some of the specialized sites. You need to test the prices you get to help you determine which is the best for you. You may even find that both are effective ways to sell your items.

For those of you who sell a lot of different items, then you'll probably want to stick to eBay since you can build up your feedback for all the different items you sell and can manage everything from one centralized account.

The Basics Of Article Marketing

The Basics Of Article Marketing
Word Count:
1229
Summary:
Article marketing is the quickest way to build online credibility and establish yourself as an expert in the online marketing field.

Keywords:

Article Body:
Writing articles is a very good way to promote the product or service you sell from your website. By writing an article about your product or service, you can stress the benefits of using your product and any extra value they provide their users. These types of articles can also help your potential customers properly evaluate your product or service, to determine if it suits their particular needs.
Using articles to promote your product or service can also help drive traffic to your website, establish you as an expert in a particular field and build your online credibility. If you do a search of the internet for article directories, you will see just how popular this form of advertising has become.
Everybody who is anybody in online marketing knows the power of this type of advertising. So if you want to enjoy any type of success in online marketing you will need to take full advantage of this powerful free marketing tool.
Because these types of articles are displayed in article directories that are indexed by the search engines regularly, you will need to write your articles properly in order to reap the full benefits of this type of advertising.
Title: The title of your article is very important. First it should attract potential readers and draw them to click on it and read your article. You should use your article's major keywords in the title if at all possible. This will help it get better search engine rankings and drive more traffic to your website.
Keywords: To achieve a top search engine ranking and stay there you need to use the right keywords. Keyword enriched articles will help you reach the top of any of the major search engines. So before writing your article think of the keywords someone would use to find the product or service your promoting and include them in your article.
Word Count: The size of your article is also very important. Most article directories have specified a minimum and maximum word count for articles submitted to them. In most cases the minimum is 400 and maximum is 1500. So always make sure your articles contain a minimum of 400 words in order to avoid submission problems do improper article size.
Spelling Grammar Punctuation: These three areas can make or break your article. The main purpose of your article is to promote your product and establish you as an expert on a given topic. So you need to make sure your articles are written properly. After writing your article check it for both spelling and punctuation errors. After correcting any errors you find, read it again to make sure it flows smoothly and contains words that can be easily understood by almost any reader. It also helps to let someone else proofread your work before submission to insure there are no errors you've missed.
Bolding and italicizing: This is a very important technique used to force the search engines give more preference to particular words contained in the text of your article. Always bold your main keywords in the body of your article. You can also italicize your secondary keywords in order to get them noticed by the search engines too.
Internal and External Hyperlinks: You can create links to your website in the article. It is also wise to incorporate links to other articles you have written that would be helpful to the person reading your article. However, you should not include affiliate links in your article because most article directories frown on this practice.
Next we will be discussing the author resources box located right below the body of your article. Most authors include unnecessary information here in an effort to impress their readers. If you really want your articles to sell, only include information in your resources box that is relevant to the product or service your promoting in your article. Also don't just put a long list of all the websites you own because it will only dilute your credibility.
Here is a list of the essential elements of a properly written author resources box. I will also include some optional elements you can choose to include if you like.
Your Name: You would be amazed by how many people don't include their name in their resources box. Your name and title if applicable should be on the first line of your resources box.
Your Contact Info: Your business address, phone number, email address and any other information that would help your potential customers locate your business if necessary
Your Web Address: The next line should contain your web address in valid URL form.
Your USP: Your USP or unique selling position is 1 to 3 sentences that encapsulate the essence of what makes your offering unique.
Your Call To Action: You warmed them up with your article now its time to lead them to buy from you or visit your website. Your call to action is where you ask for the sale.
Here is the list the list of optional elements you might want include in your author resources box.
A Newsletter Subscription address: Getting your potential customers to visit your website is very important. But capturing their email address is even more important to you. If you can get your potential customers to provide you their contact information, it will provide an opportunity to build an ongoing relationship with them based on your expertise in your chosen field.
A Free Report: Providing a link to a free report you have written that provides more information the topic of your article is also a very powerful tool you can use to convert visitors into paying customers.
An Anchor URL: If you want to build search engine relevance for a keyword or phrase you target in your article. Link that keyword or phrase to your website in your resources box. But be careful not to over do it.
Now that you know what you should include in your resources box and some options that will help your article sell better. Let's look at what you shouldn't include because it will only dilute your credibility with your potential customers.
A List Of Every Website You Own: The quickest way to dilute your credibility with potential customers is by providing them with a long list of irrelevant URLs. If the site is not relevant to the topic of your article don't include it. A good rule of thumb is to include only one URL that is related to the topic of your article.
A list Of All Your Accomplishments: Your readers aren't as concerned with your accomplishments as they are your ability to provide them with highly competent information on the subject matter contained in your article.
Advertisements: You should not include ads or pitches for products that aren't relevant to the topic of your article. It is also wise to limit the number of relevant offers to the bare minimum.
Now that you know the basics of article marketing you should put this powerful marketing tool to work for your business today. Choose a product or service you offer and write an article about it and submit it to several article directories. By doing so you will start to build a reputation as an expert in your field and make more sales due to the increase in traffic your website receives from your article.

Better Software Foundations

It is all too often the case that Software development organizations and their customers make the same mistakes over again.

Article Body:
I visited the ruins of a Roman settlement, the other day that was set in a lovely valley in the middle of an island.

The setting was idyllic, sheltered from the winds and not too far from the main market town, it seemed an ideal spot to farm and bring up a family.

Its history was thoughtfully provided on signs around the ruins of a substantial dwelling, which had been expanded in Roman times to include a hot and cold bathroom and mosaic floors. All of this was very attractive and a considerable investment for the landowner. But the settlement was abandoned, and it occurred to me that there had to be a good reason since it was clear that someone had put a lot of effort and finance into their dream.

I wondered if Vikings, who were known to be active in this area after the Romans left, had attacked it but there were no signs of charred brick work or the aftermath of battle.

Looking around another sign revealed the problem. There had been more than one attempt to settle the area, but the land formed a natural point of drainage for the hills around, and successive buildings had each eventually succumbed to subsidence.

I was left in no doubt that the buildings were of a good quality and that the builders were competent at construction, but clearly it had taken a few generations to work out that this was not a suitable site for construction. If we really wanted to settle this place now we would drive piles deep into the ground to overcome the subsidence.

The point that this drove into my mind was that of developing software. It is all too often the case that Software development organizations and their customers make the same mistakes over again. If the foundations are shaky then there is no point in building, but with a little forethought someone will could solve the problem and provide a safe way of delivering a good foundation.

The biggest mistake that organizations make is to rush to cut code before they understand the problem they are solving. That doesn't mean you have to be complacent and that sitting around in a few meetings will solve all your problems.

What should be done is: -

Ring fence what you know.
Ring fence what you don't know.
Make sure you are developing the right product.
Build the software that you know will not change.
Check that what you are building is what is wanted.

Often the customer just doesn't know exactly what they want, so you need to involve them in the development process. The earlier they get to know the product then the more likely they are to buy into the solution.
Having said all of that..

Code should be built where it enhances the understanding of the problem both to the customer and the developer.

Spider bots creep through websites slurping up keywords and phrases. They check for back links to other sites and work to properly evaluate the site for ranking in their search engines. This process is taking place on a continual basis and demonstrates something potentially exciting for those who are participants in affiliate revenue programs.

The fine strands that hold the web together for search engine data is representative of the multiple fine strands that can be created in a networking environment for affiliate revenue businesses. One strand is never quite enough so when many strands combine the overall effect if positive for all involved.

When you are able to establish aggregated inbound links from affiliates your primary website can receive a higher trust ranking in search engine placement. The greater the trust factor in your site the greater the trust factor for customers and prospects. The greater the trust factor among customers the great conversion rates you will find.

For the affiliate this scenario still remains a positive especially if they place a concerted emphasis in developing their affiliate revenue website with keywords and phrases that are in keeping with the primary thrust of the product or service.

There are many sites that are developed without paying any attention to keywords or knowledge based articles that can enhance the visitor's opinion and understanding of the product. In essence their approach is a bit like a fisherman who throws his line in the water, but never bothered to put any bait on the hook. The fish gaze at the bare hook, but the call to action (bait) is missing and the fish eventually move on to something more inviting.

Too many sites are like that hapless fisherman; they want customers, but lack any meaningful bait (call to action) for the customer to consider. Without that the customers tend to venture off elsewhere wondering why they dropped by in the first place.

You don't have to be hard sell to initiate a call to action. The call to action can be as simple as "Let's get started," or "The next step". Simple or elaborate – a call to action is imperative.

When you sign on as an affiliate it is similar to agreeing to be a salesperson for the product you'd like to receive commissions from. It would be nice if the money would come in without really having to work for it, but the truth is this scenario is very rare. You have to work at marketing the product – and your website. Proper Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques are one of the best long-term ways to get your site noticed.

Affiliate revenue works for many individuals because the Internet is based on the cyber-quilt concept of various computers and servers making up a network of receptive computers that is increasingly friendly to online commerce.

If you want more affiliate revenue from the affiliate program you work with then you need to be willing to drum up some business. What can you do to make that happen?

My first 40 days experience as a dummy, without a clue of the network

When I first got the idea to write an article by myself I was excited, but then other considerations came in such as who would read my article, why I shouldnt do as others usually do: copy or pay someone to write it for me, or follow the wave and just publish something with those key words that get Googles attention.

Finally, the desire to do something positive (and my lack of resources) prevailed: I wanted my personal experiences to be useful to others!

A week ago I was really inspired by the action of a leader in this market, Derek Gehl that started with an exemplary action. Mentioning him is my way thank him (though he's in no need of my publicity) for his really free bonus, his principled action has brought thousands to reconsider the professional ethics of this market.

Basically, I feel confident that my articles may be useful for those who can relate with my experience and find some good and hot suggestions to help them to get the best and avoid the worst.
Further, can you imagine if there was success in an Italian, and only 10-year U.S. resident, as a beginning writer on the net? I even have my daughter Caterina proofreading my papers! Wouldnt this be a great scoop itself?

So, here I am, to tell you my truthful experience in these 40 days as a gypsy, wandering from one opportunity to another, so desperate for money to buy the offer that really reflected my situation (*), only to realize after I bought it, that in order to achieve the goal of making $1,000 in 24 hours, I needed to have a hundred bucks to invest, money which I didn't have!

This is one of the vulnerable points I will talk more extensively about: the companies, promises of low price opportunities, and unclear information about future investment requirements.

Anyway, I persevered, with confidence that among all these screamers in an open market there must exist something that could substantially work for me!

One of the first honest producers I met on the web that helped me a lot has been Jonathan Leger, who allowed me to understand that good information does not necessarily have to be expensive. I received a lot of guidance from his 7 Dollar Secrets Report (**) and it allowed me to start seeing a glimpse of light in my adventure!

I would like to close my first article with a couple of humble suggestions, coming from the suffered experience of my very beginning:

* Focus on finding persons/companies that prove to be honest; no machines replaying your questions. For this to be achieved you need to be straight in your questions and demand honest and crystal clear answers.

* It is important to have a friend that has some more experience, it made a big difference for me (thanks Patrick Moriarty), with whom you can share your thoughts with, and to help you keep your feet on the ground.

I sincerely hope that my voice can be heard, hopefully for some Gurus to be touched in their conscience, and that it might be helpful to improve this jungle-looking market.

Introduction

It takes more than mere information to engage website visitors. They need a reason to make an inquiry, subscribe to your newsletter, or buy your product. So how can you get the visitor to stop skirting around the edges and come right on in? Take a look at the following 10 ways that can help convert your site visitors to leads.

1. Improve your Web Copy
As with all good web copy, trim the fat and give them the cold hard facts. Visitors want to know how the service or product will fulfill their want or need. Compelling, interactive, well written content will pull the reader in. How can you make sure you have good web copy? Follow some of the basic principles of good copywriting and you'll be fine. Make the copy concise, and speak to the target audience. Remove all the hyped up marketing lingo such as 'we have a fantastic product' and 'we've had overwhelming results.'

2. It's About the Customer
Everyone wants to know "What's in it for me?" The customer may have a problem and want a solution, or they are looking to invest in a product but need to be convinced it's a good choice. Your goal here? Show them the solution. Tell them the benefits of the product or service, rather than highlighting the features. The features won't get their problem solved or make the sale, but the benefits will.

3. Be Approachable
Use an active and friendly voice to engage the customer and keep them motivated to continue through the process of clicking on your newsletter link or making a sale. An active voice is energetic and approachable, and ultimately, it's more personal.

4. Trust is a factor
Trust is a big factor, so create plenty to go around. A visitor can't see you, so the issue of trust is even more important on the internet. I'm paid every day by a person I have never met, now that's trust! How do I know I could trust him? The first time I worked with him, he outlined the process and followed through with my expectations: I was paid on time and in full.

If you are exchanging personal information online, privacy also comes into play. Assure customers you will maintain their privacy. Tell them why you are collecting data and make them aware of what you are using it for. Place your privacy policy on your website so it can be clearly accessed. And if you are engaging in online sales, increase the trust factor by offering a variety of ways to order your product, such as via email, by phone, over a secure payment system such as Paypal.

5. Look professional
Almost half of website sales are lost because the website fails to provide the trust test with the customer. A website with an unprofessional look and feel makes the customer uneasy and gives the illusion that you are not trustworthy. Bye, bye sale.

6. Make an offer
Make the customer an offer they can't refuse. Provide them with something for free, such as an information package or set of articles: For example:

•5 great advantages to using a virtual assistant at invesp.com. Receive our special report on 5 advantages that will reduce your expenses and increase your bottom line.

•The best web copy ever in a short time with a small investment. Join our "VIP Club" at www. invesp.com to beat others with new killer web copy.

7. Position yourself
Tell the customer what makes you special and different from the other guy. Why should they do business with you? For example, my position as a writer is that I am diverse and able to write in a variety of mediums. This makes me unique, because some writers love writing copy but hate writing proposals, or they'll write a sales pitch but won't write a sales manual. Stand for something and make it known.

8. Forms
Give the customer a reason to fill out a form or sign up for a newsletter as a way to continue to communicate with you. Once you have their permission to contact them, you can start offering tools, information, and benefits to communicating with you. Maybe you are sending them information packages, or keeping them in the loop with special offers. Whatever it is, getting them to sign up will increase the likelihood of a lead.

Affiliate link hijacking is a big problem, some people will change your affiliate URL to their own before purchasing a product so they themselves get paid the commission giving them a discounted product.

This problem is far worse if you are promoting to the affiliate marketers crowd as they can spot an affiliate link from 100 yards away! They will just replace your affiliate ID with their own and "hijack" your commissions.

Some people just simply hate the thought that you will make a commission from their purchase and will just cut off your affiliate ID at the end of the URL. If you don't take steps to try and hide your affiliate links from hijackers, then you will carry on losing commissions.

Using a redirect php script

This is an easy technique to implement, all you have to do is create a single php file that includes a small piece of code, so if you are trying to promote www-yourID.merchID.hop.clickbank-net then you way create a blank page called, say,  that just contains the redirect script, so the actual link you promote would be www-yoursite-com/discounts.

Unfortunately this technique does have one drawback, some affiliate merchant links will still be visible in the browser address bar, it works great with clickbank products.

Using .htaccess to hide links.

This is works very much the same as the one above except you don't need to use any scripts, you just need to add a line of code to your .htaccess file.

As with the redirect script above, just create a blank page and upload it to your server, then add the following line of code to your .htaccess file.

Unfortunately this has the same drawbacks as the redirect script method, your affiliate link may still be visible on the merchants site in the browser address bar.

Using a zero-frame to cloak links.

This is the cloaking technique I use most often to hide affiliate links.

Using this method makes it look as if you are sending people to a page on YOUR site, even your URL will be still be visible in the address bar unlike the above cloaking techniques, people will think they are still on your site but they are actually viewing the merchants site.

You simply create a page as mentioned above and insert a few lines of code, I also add a title meta tag to fit the description of the product I'm selling.

However, you MUST test your link before promoting it! This technique can effect the tracking on some sites, so make sure that you will be getting credit for all the traffic you send their way.

How to hide links in a browser.

This technique is used on your website so that when someone hovers over a link, they don't see the actual destination link in their browser status bar.

So if your actual link was www-affiliateproduct-com/uglyaffiliatelink?123 they would only see in their browser.

So there you have it, 4 easy ways to hide or cloak your affiliate links, using these techniques will certainly increase your sales and reduce link hijacking.

If you aren't using any techniques to hide your affiliate links then I can guarantee that you are losing affiliate commissions! You must protect yourself from these hijackers, the harder you make it for people to recognise an affiliate link, the more commission you will make.
